Reese Witherspoon feetLaura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon (born on the 22nd of March 1976) is an American actress. She has been the recipient of many accolades, including an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. Time magazine and Forbes both included her in the top 100 most influential people on the world in both 2015 and 2006 and 2006, respectively. Forbes listed her as the world's most powerful actress in 2021. Her net worth is estimated to be 400 million. Witherspoon first appeared on screen in 1991 when she was she was a teenager. Her breakout came in 1999, with an appearance in Cruel Intentions as well as her portrayal of Tracy Flick in the black comedy Election. She gained wider recognition for playing Elle Woods in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) and its sequel in 2003 and for her part in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama (2002). She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the musical biopic Walk the Line. After a downturn in her career in which her sole box office hit was Water for Elephants (2011). Witherspoon returned to the screen in the form of a producer and played in Wild (2014). She got a second Academy Awards nomination for Best Actress. Witherspoon continues to work primarily in television and has performed and produced in a variety of female-led adaptations of books under Hello Sunshine. This includes the HBO drama series Big Little Lies (2017-2019) and The Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show (2019-present), and the Hulu miniseries Little Fires Everywhere (2020). The Primetime Emmy Award was won for Outstanding Limited Series in the first episode of the series. She has also produced the film adaptations Gone Girl (2014) and Where the Crawdads Sing (2022).Witherspoon also owns a clothing line, Draper James, and she is active in children's and women's advocacy groups. She is on the board of the Children's Defence Fund and has been named Global Ambassador for Avon Products in 2007. In this capacity, she serves as the honorary chair for Avon Foundation's charitable foundation that is dedicated to women's issues.
