StephanieStephanie Sigman is a Mexican-American actress. Her breakout role was in Miss Bala (2011), an Mexican crime drama film. She went on to be seen in Pioneer (2013), Spectre (2015), Going Under (2016) and Annabelle: Creation (2017). Sigman was a star in Narcos (2015), S.W.A.T. (2017) and the second season of both series. Sigman was born to the family of a Mexican mom and an American father, Lee Sigman, who is a New York Yankees scout. Through her father, she's an U.S. citizen. [2][3][4] Her father, the professional baseball player Kenneth Ray Sigman was her mother. She began her career in Mexican television before she made her film debut in Rio de Oro. In 2011, she played the leading character in the film Laura Guerrero in the Mexican crime drama film, Miss Bala. The film was nominated as the Mexican entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 84th Academy Awards.[7][8The film, however, was not on the final list. [9] Sigman was nominated for the Dublin Film Critics Circle Award in the year 2011 for her performance in film. In 2011, she was in Catalina Aguado, the Canadian documentary film Flight of the Butterflies. In 2013, Sigman starred with Pioneer which was a Norwegian thriller.
