Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, philanthropist and television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. When she moved into England from Greece at 16 and obtaining an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. At 21 she became president of the renowned debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student to do so. After graduation she made her name as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later she created an online voice portal which offered critical observations on the political scenario. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna was first noticed when she ran in the California recall election replacing then Governor Davis. Apart from this she also was the leader of a Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes named her as 12th on its list for the Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their list of the top 100 in the year 2010. AOL Inc. appointed her President of their media group in 2011, after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included the other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are management consultants and journalists. Though she shared a close friendship with both her father and mother and father, it was their relationship which shaped her. When she was a teen, she showed leadership traits that she still is known for. Her move to England came at sixteen to further her studies and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. As a student she was a member of the Cambridge Union's colleges debating societies, where she eventually became its first female and foreign president. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was awarded. In the years following after graduation she became an editor of the critic's column and a television host. She was a guest on Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began writing the books she wrote with Bernard Levin's assistance.
