Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an writer, journalist, TV host, and owner of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she moved to England at the age of sixteen and then was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. As the first foreign student to serve as president in the famous debate group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the presidency. She was a syndicated conservative writer following graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a couple of years after, she created an online platform for voice with a critique of current the political landscape. The fame of Arianna has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna's popularity started in 2003, after she declared herself an independent candidate in the California recall vote in order to replace the then governor Davis. Additionally she was the leader of the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as The most influential women in the media, achieving 12th position on their list and in the same year, the Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. Then she was appointed the head of the AOL media group. The group included several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Their parents are Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management consultant and journalist. Even though she was close to her father, her connection to her mom shaped the remainder of her life. In her earliest years she displayed leadership qualities that are still highly regarded. At the age of 16, she moved over to England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college, where she was the first woman to serve as the president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned the degree of Master's in Economics. Following her graduation, she worked as a journalist and TV host. In addition, she appeared alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editing assistance.
